The Managing Authority of the Interreg (VI-A) IPA CBC “Greece-Albania” 2021-2027 is launching the 3rd Targeted Call for Strategic Project Proposal, with an approximate indicative budget of € 2,56 million. The EU contribution is 80% of the project’s total eligible costs and the project’s national co-financing is 20% of the total eligible costs.
For the 3rd Targeted Call for Strategic Project Proposal, the project proposal shall be submitted under the Specific Objective RSO 2.6 “Promoting the transition to a circular and resource efficient economy” and under the title “Introducing Digital Tools for Monitoring Waste Management in Urban Areas”.
In this context, the present Call intends to support cross-border cooperation to promote concrete solutions in the field of household waste management in the programme area.
The specific Strategic Project foreseen in the Programme Document, under the title “Introducing Digital Tools for Monitoring Waste Management in Urban Areas”, aims at the development and testing of digital tools for monitoring municipal solid waste, contributing to the reducing of pollution in the cross-border area. The purpose of the developed instruments and tools may include the record-in real- time of the waste thrown by households with the aim of introducing to local communities a new and innovative method of waste collection, to help citizens, understand the dynamics of waste production and support the transition to more sustainable-smart cities that improve the environment and wellbeing of the local population.
Partners from both countries will cooperate in order to support the development and testing of digital tools for monitoring municipal solid waste, based on knowledge transfer for a more effective way of waste management.
