CIRCLE stretegic project kick-off meeting

On 21 and 22 October 2025, the strategic project CIRCLE —dedicated to piloting circular economy innovation in the cross-border region— commenced its implementation with an official kick-off meeting at lead partner’s DIADYMA headquarters at Kozani (Western Macedonia – Greece). The event was attended by representatives of all partner organisations: the Hellenic Recycling Agency – EOAN (GR), the Municipality of Fier (AL) and the Municipality of Pogradec (AL), alongside the Head of Interreg Greece–Albania JS Mr. George Papadopoulos, and the Project Officer Ms. Victoria Stergiou, who both offered their support and encouragement for the project’s progress.

CIRCLE will deliver a new Circular Economy and Innovation Centre in Western Macedonia and introduce advanced waste processing systems in Fier and Pogradec, supported by targeted communication and awareness activities. Coordinated actions and shared expertise among partners aim to accelerate innovation, improve waste management, and drive sustainability across the Greece–Albania border. The Joint Secretariat of the Interreg VI-A IPA Greece–Albania Programme welcomes the strong collaborative spirit demonstrated at the launch and looks forward to witnessing the project advance measurable benefits for communities in both countries.
