
A major step towards a greener and more digital future was taken today! Alternate Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, signed the funding contract for the “Smart Cities: Smart solutions for resilient low-pollution cities” project.
Supported by the Interreg IPA VI-A “Greece – Albania 2021-2027” programme, this €1,94 million initiative focuses on sustainable mobility and cutting-edge technology to improve air quality and daily life in our cities.
What to expect:
🚲 Florina: A new fleet of 35 shared electric bicycles and environmental sensors.
🚌 Arta: Two electric mini-buses to connect parking areas with the city center.
🧹 Lefkada: New electric cleaning vehicles for a cleaner, quieter city center.
⚡ Albania (Korce & Vlore): Four new electric buses and charging stations.
The project also includes digital tools for monitoring air quality and awareness campaigns like “Zero Emissions Day” to engage students and citizens.
